The Sir Thomas White Loan Charity is pleased to announce that a total of £75,000 was approved in unique interest-free loans to people in Leicestershire and Rutland, at the culmination of the opening quarter of 2022.
Based in the heart of Leicester city centre, The Sir Thomas White Loan Charity provides loans of up to £20,000 to new and existing businesses within the county, and loans of up to £10,000 for students wishing to study at postgraduate level.
All loans approved and delivered by The Sir Thomas White Loan Charity are completely interest-free, meaning that borrowers repay only what they borrow – and successful applicants are also given three years before equal monthly repayments commence.
Of the loans approved in the second quarter, five loans totalling £75,000 will be utilised to support local businesses, including an optician and a high-end gift boutique.
An additional loan of £10,000 was approved to aid post-graduate education.
David Howard, Chair of Trustees of The Sir Thomas White Loan Charity, said: “We are pleased to be able to approve five interest-free loans which are set to make a huge difference to the business or education ventures of our successful applicants.
“Our next application window closes at 3.30pm on 31st March and I would encourage anybody within Leicestershire and Rutland that could benefit from up to £20,000 to start, or grow, a business to take a look at what we offer. We firmly believe our loans are unique to people in our county – and we have a substantial sum to deliver.
“Free independent professional support is also on offer to support your application. We’re eager to support as many businesses and students as possible within the county, as we continue to emerge from the economic impact of COVID-19.”
