We’re delighted to announce that seven interest-free loans totalling £105,000 have been awarded by the Charity in the final quarter of 2022.
£95,000 of this allocation has been approved for six local businesses, including a gym, patisserie, smokery and online education platform, while one education loan of £10,000 will support the post-graduate studies of a Bar Professional Training Course.
Established in 1542, The Sir Thomas White Loan Charity hosts quarterly application windows each year in which people aged over 18 and under 45 can apply for unique interest-free loans of up to £20,000 to aid local businesses, or £10,000 to support students wishing to return to post-graduate education.
Loans approved by STWLC are payable in equal sums over a nine-year term, with no repayments required in the first three years at all.
Today’s announcement follows the news that £86,000 in interest-free loans was approved by STWLC for the third quarter of 2022, aiding the progress of a photographer and a beautician, alongside other local businesses within the county.
This means the total amount of interest-free loans approved by the Charity in 2022 stands at £330,500.
Lucy Womack, Chair of Trustees of The Sir Thomas White Loan Charity, said: “As we come to the end of the calendar year, we are absolutely delighted to approve a healthy sum of £105,000 to be delivered in interest-free business and education loans in our latest application window.
“It’s not an easy time for businesses at the moment and we hear so much about a lack of financial support being available, but that’s where we can step in and make a real difference. Our loans are completely interest-free, which means you’ll only pay back what you borrow, and our generous nine-year terms make repayments much easier than other lenders. If you want to start a new business, develop an existing one or take a post-graduate course, visit our website to find out how we can help!”
Application packs for STWLC’s interest-free business and education loans are available to download upon completion of a contact form on the Charity’s website.
The next deadline for applications is 3.30pm on Tuesday 3 January 2023.
