The Sir Thomas White Loan Charity would like to congratulate Melton-based games shop and STWLC business loan borrower Black Dragon Games on being named winner of the Craft and Hobby category in MP Alicia Kearns’s Favourite Independent Shop 2022 competition.
In February, Rutland and Melton MP Alicia Kearns visited the local shops who were recognised in her annual competition, which received almost 20,000 votes across 15 different categories.
One of those winners was Black Dragon Games, owned by Richard Foulston, who was able to order £20,000 worth of new stock when receiving an interest-free business loan from STWLC in January 2022, helping the business to increase profits and kick on to the next level.
“Thank you to amazing gaming community – we have been blown away by your enthusiasm and kinds words,” Richard said, after receiving the award.
“When we set out to create a gaming hub in Melton Mowbray at the end of 2021 we had no idea what the response would be like, but the amazing people who now frequent our store have formed the most incredible community. We couldn’t have done it without you, and we are so excited about bring even more gaming to Melton Mowbray over the next 12 months.”
Richard continued by thanking STWLC for its role throughout his business journey so far: “We need to say a huge thank you to The Sir Thomas White Loan Charity for putting their faith in us and helping us to create a business which makes so many people happy! We could not have built up our business this quickly without you.”
